Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing in Tacoma, WA is seeking a casual on-call Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver) to deliver and return box trucks up to 26 feet, and to assist the service dept with parts delivery as needed.

The schedule runs Wednesday to Friday 2pm-10pm or Sunday to Tuesday 7am-3pm, with 0–25 hours per week depending on business needs. A valid CDL Class B is required; Class A is preferred. DMV record must be clean and driving duties must meet DOT requirements.

Qualifications

• Two years of driving experience.
• Two years of a clean DMV record.
• Valid Class B CDL; domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in state of residence.
• CDL Class A license preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Ability to work independently with customer service skills.
• English language proficiency per federal law.
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential.
• DOT drug screening and FMCSA Clearinghouse requirements for CDL holders.
• Willingness to travel and to work the required schedule at the designated location.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures while driving trucks to Penske locations or customer locations.
• Check vehicles for mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment and report issues.
• Obtain receipts or signatures and collect payment for services when required.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles.
• Perform other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
