Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer in Arlington, VA. This role involves patrolling, customer service, and ensuring safety at an aerospace/defense location with a daytime and overnight schedule.

The position requires at least 1 year of security experience, a valid Guard Card/license preferred, CPR certification preferred, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Background checks and drug screening apply where permitted by law.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of security-related experience.
• Guard Card or license preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and authorized contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and report access-control concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, document observations, and promptly notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity reports and maintain professional communication with site personnel, visitors, and Allied Universal leadership.
