Job summary

Allied Universal in Asheville, NC is seeking a part-time, unarmed Security Officer focused on customer service at a healthcare location. You will patrol, monitor access, and respond to incidents while maintaining a professional demeanor.

The role offers a flexible weekend schedule (Sat/Sun), training opportunities, and access to Allied Universal's perks program. A high school diploma and basic computer skills are preferred, with prior security or customer service experience advantageous.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with directions and access procedures, and report unusual conditions or incidents to the appropriate contacts.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation in accordance with site-specific policies.
