Job summary

Althea Healthcare is seeking a passionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for a PRN/Part-time role to help us improve care for adults and geriatric patients across two Merced facilities. The ideal candidate is PMHNP-certified, licensed in California, and experienced with adult/geriatric populations.

The role requires independent EHR documentation, collaboration with the supervising physician, and the ability to contribute to individualized treatment plans, urgent consultations, and education on

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
• MSN degree required.
• PMHNP certification required.
• CA license and DEA/DPS registration.
• Experience with adult/geriatric populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric care including evaluations, follow-ups, and urgent consultations.
• Deliver high-quality, client-centered care.
• Document in EHR independently and protect confidentiality.
• Collaborate with mental health team to develop treatment plans.
• Assess need for higher level of care, including hospitalization.
• Educate patients about meds and adherence.
• Work with supervising physician to improve outcomes.
