Job summary

The City of Ames has a part-time opportunity for Lane Workers to support CyRide. The position covers 15-19 hours weekly with multi-shift evenings and weekends; training includes obtaining a CDL permit and possibly full CDL, with a 12-month commitment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of high school, HiSET or GED (education requirement).
• Ability to obtain Iowa driver’s license and CDL permits within set timelines.
• Experience with vehicle servicing, cleaning and minor maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine daily vehicle servicing, fueling, cleaning and minor servicing of transit vehicles.
• Clean and maintain facilities and grounds as needed.
• Assist in bus fleet preparation and daily run organization.
