Job summary

OSU-Cascades – TRAL seeks 1–5 part-time Undergraduate Teaching Assistants for the Tourism Recreation and Adventure Student Leadership program. The TA supports faculty in delivering courses and mentoring undergraduates, with responsibilities across discussion sections, labs, and office hours.

Position offers skills development in leadership, communication, teaching, and professionalism within an academic setting. Start date or term alignment will be determined by the department.

Qualifications

• Must be academically enrolled in a college/university or alternative program.
• Must meet academic standing requirements; suspension excludes eligibility.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and with faculty and students.
• Commitment to professionalism, inclusivity, and academic integrity.

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty with instructional activities and course administration.
• Facilitate discussions, review sessions, or laboratory exercises as assigned.
• Grade assignments, quizzes, and exams per faculty guidelines.
• Provide academic assistance during office hours or tutoring sessions.
• Monitor course communications and respond to routine student questions.
• Support use of classroom and learning management technologies.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and comply with university policies.
• Serve as a positive role model and resource for students.
