Bishop O’Dowd High School in Oakland, CA is seeking a Track & Field Assistant Coach (Part-Time) to support the program from February through May. The role focuses on coaching, safety, and alignment with the school's mission.

You will work with the Head Coach, help plan practices, supervise student-athletes, and assist with equipment and event logistics while promoting character, teamwork and sportsmanship. Applicants should have playing or coaching experience, First Aid/CPR willingness, and NFHS

Qualifications

Playing experience and/or knowledge of track and field required.
Previous high school or college coaching experience preferred.
First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certificate or willingness to obtain.
Availability during after-school hours and weekends; off-season duties may be required.

Responsibilities

Assist with all aspects of the Track & Field program to ensure growth of student-athletes.
Help develop a master practice and meet schedule in coordination with head coach.
Attend regular coaching staff meetings and ensure safety and compliance.
Represent the school at league meetings when needed.
Support student-athletes in the college recruitment process and manage equipment logistics.
