Job summary

Lucas Christian Academy in Lucas, Texas invites applications for an assistant track coach to support varsity/junior-high track and field. This is a part-time, stipend-only position reporting to the Program Head Coach and Athletic Director.

Responsibilities include assisting with practices, supervising athletes, teaching proper techniques, and promoting Christ-centered character. Coaching experience preferred; background checks required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; Associates degree preferred.
• Prior coaching experience desired or varsity level player experience.
• Knowledge of overall operations of athletic programs and events.
• Ability to communicate and walk out your faith.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Partnership with the Athletic Department & School as a whole.
• Agreement with LCA's Statement of Faith and Statement on Marriage and Human Sexuality as stated on the school website.
• Complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Subject to variations and extremes in weather and environment.
• Ability to travel.
• Frequent evening work.
• Occasional requirements to perform duties in inclement weather conditions.
• Ability to be the Administrator on Duty for events.

• Show by example a profound reverence for the Word of God.
• Create learning activities and experiences to nurture intellectual, physical, social and spiritual growth.
• Establish positive relationships with coaches, athletes, parents, & staff.
• Provide students with an opportunity to compete at a high level.
• Ensure compliance with TAPPS rules and by-laws.
• Help execute practices and activities to achieve district and state recognition.
• Maintain regular and accurate attendance records.
• Flexibility in scheduling of practices & games.
• Demonstrate knowledge of the latest trends in sports.
• Maintain alignment in the coaching staff.
• Assist Program Head Coach and Athletic Director with other tasks assigned.
