Job summary

Williamsburg-James City County Schools is seeking a part-time reading instructional assistant to support eligible Title I students in grades K-5. The role involves delivering small-group literacy lessons and following Title I program methods within designated schools.

The candidate will work under the supervision of Title I staff and contribute to data collection, progress monitoring, and reporting to parents and administrators as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of study at a higher education institution or an associate degree or higher.
• Ability to communicate clearly in speech and basic writing.
• Knowledge of educational instructional practices and teaching methods.
• Ability to interpret policies and follow procedures.
• Proficiency with word processing software for lesson planning and data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver small-group literacy instruction following Title I approved methods.
• Work under the supervision of a Title I teacher and Title I Coordinator.
• Teach during designated part-time hours as scheduled by Title I staff.
• Maintain lesson records, data, and progress monitoring information.
