Velocity Vehicle Group in Hildebran, NC is seeking a dedicated CDL Driver to join our team. You will transport trucks for local fleet customers, conduct quality control test drives, and document results while ensuring safety and DOT compliance.

This part-time role offers hours Wed-Fri or Thu-Fri with potential to go full-time, competitive pay of $22-$25 per hour, and a comprehensive benefits package including 401k match and health coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years of driving experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License Class A or B.
• DOT medical card and medical release required.
• Willingness to pass DOT random drug testing.
• Knowledge of traffic laws.

Responsibilities

• Operate transportation of trucks for local fleet customers, with related loading/unloading as needed.
• Perform quality control test drives and complaint verification test drives.
• Document test results and complete road test performance sheets.
• Arrange lots for better presentation; coordinate diesel filling and steam cleaning.
• Maintain daily activity logs and cover for lot porter as needed.
• Adhere to Department of Transportation safety standards.

What You’ll Do:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable CDL Driver to join our team, responsible for the efficient transportation of trucks for our local large fleet customers to and from the shop for service and repair. The primary duties include conducting quality control test drives and complaint verification test drives, ensuring adherence to quality standards. The ideal candidate will document test results, complete road test performance sheets, and arrange lots as needed for enhanced truck presentation. In addition to filling service trucks with diesel and coordinating the steam cleaning of trucks, the Driver will perform various errands, such as picking up parts from other locations. A meticulous record of daily activities will be maintained on a daily log, and the Driver will cover for the lot porter as required. The Driver will also follow the Department of Transportation's safety standards, performing additional job-related duties as needed. This role is part-time:

The typical hours are Wednesday‑Friday or Thursday‑Friday 8:30am- 5pm. There is potential that this role could go full‑time.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for all quality/control test drives
• Defines and carries out appropriate test drives to confirm compliance with quality standards
• Documents test results
• Completes road tests performance sheets
• Performs complaint verification test drives
• Arranges lots as needed for better presentation
• Fills service trucks with diesel
• Coordinates steam cleaning of trucks
• Performs errands as needed (i.e. pick up parts from other locations)
• Drops off oil samples at Caterpillar
• Maintains record of all daily activities on daily log
• Performs additional job related duties as needed
• Covers for lot porter as needed
• Follows Department of Transportation’s safety standards

Skills And Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent
• Two (2) plus years driving experience
• Current Commercial Driver License A or B
• Must have Department of Transportation medical card and medical release
• Willing to submit and pass Department of Transportation’s random drug testing
• Must have knowledge and willing to comply with traffic laws

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
• Must be able to pass post offer drug test, physical, background check and MVR check

Compensation

• $22-$25/hour depending on experience and qualifications
• Full Time position
