Job summary

Calex-Sports-Inc is seeking enthusiastic After School Tennis Coaches to provide engaging tennis classes to students in Grades K-3 at elementary schools across the Bay Area. This part-time role involves teaching tennis, managing classes, and creating a positive learning environment.

Classes run 1–1.5 hours, weekdays 1 p.m.–5 p.m., with 2–5 hours per week. Local Bay Area residency, vaccination, and a live scan background check are required; transportation of equipment is needed.

Qualifications

  • Must be 19+ years old.
  • Experience in tennis teaching or playing preferred but not required.
  • Local Bay Area availability/residency preferred.
  • Must be vaccinated and able to pass live scan background check.
  • Ability to work independently and with a small team.

Responsibilities

  • Manage tennis classes for 8-16 students ages 5-10.
  • Teach using provided lesson plans.
  • Attend two-day training/shadowing session.
  • Transport tennis equipment to class and set up equipment.
  • Take attendance and communicate with parents.
  • Capture photos of kids in action each session.

Job Description:

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as After School Tennis Coaches. As a coach, you will be responsible for providing engaging tennis classes to students in Grades K-3 at various elementary schools across the Bay Area. This part-time position involves teaching tennis to elementary school children, managing classes, and creating a positive and engaging learning environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Class Management:
  • Can manage a class size of 8 - 16 students with ages ages 5-10 years old
  • Teach the tennis class using provided lesson plans.
Training and Preparation:
  • Attend a two-day training/shadowing session to familiarize yourself with the program.
  • Transport tennis equipment to and from class. Set up the tennis equipment.
Administrative Tasks:
  • Take attendance, sign in, and sign out students for each class.
  • Interact with parents and school office staff when needed.
  • Provide feedback for each student by the end of the session.
Documentation:
  • Capture a few pictures each session of kids in action.
Requirements:
  • Must be 19+ years old upon application.
  • Previous teaching or playing experience in tennis is preferred but not required.
  • USPTA/PTR certification is preferred but not required.
  • Enjoy working with kids and professionally managing a class.
  • Flexibility, reliability, punctuality, and a professional, enthusiastic approach.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Carry a resilient, positive attitude.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and within a small team.
  • Have reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula.
  • Willing to undergo a live scan background check before working.
  • Must be fully vaccinated.
  • Must complete sending photo and short biography to upload in our website and introduce your experience in sports.
Locations:

Programs are in multiple cities across the bay area and candidates must be readily available and living in the Bay Area.

Schedule:

Classes are 1 - 1.5 hours long, starting between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday to Friday. Work two or more days per week, with a maximum of 2-5 hours per week.

Application Process:

Candidates must be local to the US or already have a necessary working VISA as the employer does not provide any Visa assistance to applicants.
