Clovis Community College - Clovis, NM is seeking a Part-Time Temporary Adult Basic Education Instructor to teach ESL, Basic Reading, HSE, Citizenship or Basic Computer Literacy or other Work Based Skills.

The role involves assessing students’ educational levels, teaching practical skills, and supporting student learning in an adult education setting. Responsibilities include attendance records, recruitment, and mandatory trainings to advance the program’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Assess students’ educational levels through standardized pre- and post-test assessments every semester.
• Teach practical communication and academic skills according to students’ abilities.
• Serve as a facilitator of student learning by familiarizing with texts, workbooks and resources and developing teaching methods for adult education.
• Provide students with a variety of appropriate experiences through teaching techniques.
• Pre-assess skill level informally and teach accordingly.
• Develop understanding of adult learners’ needs, the ABE program and its mission.
• Maintain and submit monthly attendance and follow-up reports, timesheets, student enrollment and registration forms and end-of-semester progress reports.
• Assist in student recruitment and retention; promote Clovis Community College to make students aware of additional courses and services offered in the Center for Student Success.
• Attend mandatory teacher In-Service trainings.
