Job summary

Trustco Bank in New City, NY is seeking a Part-Time Teller to provide friendly, accurate banking services while upholding security and compliance in a fast-paced branch environment.

You report to the Branch Manager and must be customer-focused with strong cash handling skills and a professional demeanor to support daily branch operations and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in customer service and cash handling.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Fluent in English; bilingual a plus.
• Access to reliable transportation.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development.
• Ability to lift 10–20 lbs. and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Process deposits, check cashing, and withdrawals accurately and efficiently.
• Cross-sell and educate clients on bank products and services.
• Handle credit card payments, issue money orders, bank checks, and accept loan payments.
• Manage night deposit bags and safe deposits with confidentiality and security.
• Respond to customer questions and assist with general banking needs.
• Perform end-of-day balancing and reconcile ATMs with proper record-keeping.

About the Part- Time Teller Role

Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time Teller, where exceptional customer service and operational excellence meet. Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, you’ll play a vital role in delivering personalized banking experiences while ensuring the highest standards of security and compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Customer Transactions: Accurately and efficiently process deposits, check cashing, and withdrawals, verifying cash and endorsements, and issuing receipts with meticulous attention to detail.
• Product & Service Promotion: Cross-sell and educate clients on the Bank’s diverse financial products and services, enhancing client relationships and fostering financial wellness.
• Payment Processing: Handle credit card payments, issue money orders, bank checks, and accept loan payments, ensuring accuracy and security.
• Secure Handling of Assets: Manage night deposit bags, admit clients to safe deposit boxes, and maintain confidentiality and security at all times.
• Client Support & Inquiries: Respond promptly to customer questions, provide account balances, and assist with general banking needs, cultivating a welcoming environment.
• Reconciliation & Record Keeping: Perform end-of-day balancing of transactions, verify cash totals, and reconcile Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). Maintain detailed reports and logs to ensure compliance and accurate record retention.

Schedule

Part-time position with hours aligned to branch operations:

• Mon–Fri: 12:30 PM – 5:00 PM
• Sun: Closed

Employees may need to remain 15–30 minutes after closing.
