Southern Bancorp is seeking a Branch Customer Service Representative to provide prompt, friendly service, handle cash, deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments at our Blytheville, AR location.

The role involves balancing cash drawers, assisting with ATM duties, and cross-selling bank services while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum six months of customer service and cash handling experience; banking experience preferred.
• Strong customer contact skills to greet the public in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Maintain confidentiality of the Bank’s records and customer transactions.
• Detail oriented, accurate, and able to multi-task; good mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to operate a computer terminal, 10 key, and other general office equipment.
• Willingness to be involved and represent Southern Bancorp through civic and community organizations.

Responsibilities

• Processes night deposits and mail-in deposits.
• Maintains cash drawers with proper cash levels and safety.
• May service ATM as needed.
• Opens safety deposit boxes.
• Completes CTR reports as needed.
• Performs branch CSR duties on Saturday rotation.
• Accepts checks for cashing and processes deposits and withdrawals.
• Receives loan payments and processes cash-related transactions.
• Responds to customer inquiries and cross-sells bank services.
• Performs balancing functions, including ATM operations.
• Completes required training and other duties as assigned.

Job description

Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly services to customers, involving receipt and payment of cash, and to recognize customers' needs with suggestions appropriate to the Bank's services. Follows the established policies and procedures for this area, in accordance with the Bank and the supervisor's direction.

Responsibilities

• Processes night deposit and mail-in deposits.
• Maintains proper cash level in drawers, keeps cash secure, and maintains a high level of safety for the Bank.
• May service ATM according to schedule or need
• Opens safety deposit boxes
• Completes CTR reports as needed
• Performs duties of branch CSR on scheduled Saturday rotation
• Accepts checks for cashing, receives checking and related accounts; accepts deposits, verifies cash and endorsements, makes change, and issues receipts
• Receives savings deposits, pays withdrawals after verifying balance and signature; redeems U.S. Savings Bonds
• Receives loan payments when installment loan coupon accompanies payment
• Process credit card cash advances
• Responds to customers' inquiries as appropriate
• Sells cashier's checks
• Cross-sells bank and affiliate services
• Performs various balancing functions, including ATM.
• Completes all required training
• Performs other related duties as required or assigned

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum six months of customer service and cash handling experience; experience in a bank or similar financial institution preferred.
• Strong customer contact skills to meet and greet the public in a friendly, courteous manner responding to a variety of situations in a professional manner
