Job summary

Snapology of Layton is seeking an Instructor to lead engaging, hands-on STEM activities for kids ages 2–14, using LEGO® bricks, robotics, coding, and other interactive tools to make Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math come alive.

You will mentor curious minds and represent the brand with energy and professionalism, collaborating with leadership in a mission-driven team and welcoming parents and students with enthusiasm.

Qualifications

  • Experience with children in classroom, camp, or similar settings.
  • Current Criminal and Child Clearances required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with children and parents.

Responsibilities

  • Lead groups of up to 24 students in hands-on STEM activities.
  • Guide students in using learning materials and equipment.
  • Create a positive, structured classroom environment with clear rules.
  • Uphold classroom management standards for safety and respect.
  • Track student progress and adapt teaching approaches.
  • Come prepared by reviewing curriculum materials and training videos.
  • Serve as a friendly contact for parent questions about programs.
  • Encourage continued learning through future Snapology programs.
  • Attend ongoing training sessions and staff meetings.

Join Snapology as an Instructor and turn STEM learning into an adventure! You'll lead engaging, hands-on programs that spark creativity, build teamwork, and sharpen problem-solving skills in kids ages 2–14 — using LEGO® bricks, robotics, coding, and other interactive tools to make Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math come alive.

Responsibilities
Role & Responsibilities:

Lead and inspire groups of up to 24 students through hands-on, curriculum-guided STEM activities

Guide students in confidently using learning materials and equipment, fostering independence and discovery

Create a positive, structured classroom environment by establishing clear rules and procedures

Uphold Snapology's classroom management standards to ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning space

Track individual student progress and adapt your teaching approach to help every child succeed

Come prepared for every session by reviewing curriculum materials, training videos, and/or attending hands-on training

Serve as a knowledgeable, friendly point of contact for parent questions about Snapology programs

Champion the Snapology experience by encouraging students and families to continue their learning journey in future programs

Stay sharp and connected by participating in ongoing training sessions and staff meetings

Qualifications
Qualifications:

Current Criminal and Child Clearances (required)

2+ years of experience working with children in a classroom, camp, or similar educational setting

Education degree or prior teaching experience preferred — candidates actively pursuing a degree in education are strongly encouraged to apply

A natural collaborator who builds positive, effective relationships with students, parents, and fellow team members

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with children and adults alike

A dependable, punctual team player who shows up ready to make an impact every day

Snapology offers a variety of program formats, so you can choose the opportunities that best match your availability and interests:

After-School Classes (September – May)

1–2 hours, Monday–Friday, between 2:30 PM–5:00 PM

Evening Classes

1–2 hours, Monday–Friday, between 5:00 PM–9:00 PM

Offsite Events

1–4 hours, anytime between 9:00 AM–8:00 PM

Weekend Workshops

2–4 hours, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday

Summer Camps (June – August)

1.5–7 hours (typically ~3 hours/day), Monday–Friday, between 9:00 AM–4:00 PM

Holiday, Spring Break & In-Service Day Camps

1.5–7 hours (typically ~3 hours/day), Monday–Friday, between 9:00 AM–4:00 PM

Birthday Parties

2 hours, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday

Special Events

1–8 hours, scheduled anytime
