Job summary

Quincy College in Massachusetts seeks an Adjunct Instructor in Surgical Technology to teach and supervise students in the lab and clinical settings under the Dean of Natural Health & Science and the Director of the Surgical Technology Program.

The role requires a NBSTSA certification, a bachelor’s degree preferred, at least three years of OR experience, and active AST membership; familiarity with Canvas-based teaching tools is a plus, and candidate must maintain CPR and health requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.
• NBSTSA certification is required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of recent operating room experience as a Surgical Technologist or Instructor.
• Must maintain CPR certification and health requirements.
• Membership in the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) required.
• Teaching or training experience in a diverse academic environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction to students in the Surgical Technology Lab.
• Prepare and clean lab facilities before and after each session.
• Demonstrate surgical skills and assess student return demonstrations.
• Evaluate student progress and provide feedback after lab practical exams.
• Maintain accurate student records and participate in skills assessment reviews.
• Coordinate with clinical sites and monitor rotation requirements.
• Mentor and support students in clinical settings and ensure safety standards.
