Job summary

UPS in Palatine, IL seeks a permanent supervisor to train and oversee Package Handlers and Clerks on safety, productivity, and attendance. This role holds teams accountable for timecards and performance while coordinating with management to resolve package concerns.

The position requires flexible shifts (up to 5 days) and a strong emphasis on safety, communication, and leadership. Candidates with a bachelor's degree or international equivalent and prior management experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Availability to work flexible shift hours, up to 5 days per week.
• Strong problem solving and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in fast-paced warehouse environments preferred.

• Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains good working relationships with employees, management and customers.
• Facilitates training with new and current employees.
• Conducts and participates in group meetings.
• Coordinates evaluations with management.
• Determines best solutions for package concerns.
• Supervises daily activities of package handlers and clerks to ensure all assigned duties are accomplished safely and timely.
• Understands and consistently demonstrates UPS's high ethical standards and code of conduct.

Pay Range

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $26.25/hr to $42.65/hr. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate’s work experience. Hired applicants are offered annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs, subject to applicable eligibility requirements. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
