Job summary

82nd Street Academics is seeking part-time teacher assistants for its Summer Programs in 2026 across campuses including Renaissance Charter Schools 1 & 2, PS280, and the Jackson Heights main site. Roles run July–August with varied hours per location, paying $18 per hour.

Training begins in June 2026 and summer programs include arts, sports, field trips, and leadership activities. Responsibilities include supporting participation under Lead Teachers, modeling professional behavior, monitoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (preferred) or working toward degree.
• Plan towards college graduation required.
• At least one year of experience with students in a professional setting.
• Commitment through mid-August is a non-negotiable requirement.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Support student participation in high-quality programming under Lead Teachers and Site Director.
• Serve as role models for students.
• Monitor attendance and use engagement strategies to increase daily attendance.
• Adhere to policies on attendance, dress code, and respectful interactions with students and staff.
• Communicate with families about concerns and partner with school communities.
