Job summary

Hawkeye Area Community Action Program (HACAP) is seeking a Substitute Teacher to join our team on a part-time, as-needed basis. The role supports classrooms when regular staff are absent, helping to maintain a nurturing early education environment.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and at least three months of experience in a licensed preschool setting. Iowa DHS checks and health screenings are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Three (3) months of experience in a licensed early childhood or preschool setting.

Responsibilities

• Position Goal: support the classroom in the absence of assigned staff to maintain a nurturing education program.
• Assist with classroom coverage when regular staff are absent to ensure proper staff-to-child ratios.
• Contribute to a positive and safe learning environment for participating children.
