Job summary

Nexstar Media in High Point, NC seeks a Studio Technician to operate cameras, audio, lighting and other studio systems for daily live newscasts and productions.

You will collaborate with the director and on-air talent to ensure productions run smoothly, set up segments with props and audio, maintain studios, and prepare guests for appearances with mic setup; willingness to work nights, weekends, or holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience in television, film or postproduction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate studio equipment for daily live newscasts and studio productions.
• Coordinate with the director and on-air talent to ensure clean, planned productions.
• Set up segments, including audio, tables, chairs, props, and other items.
• Assist in the operation and daily maintenance of studios and gear.
• Prepare guests for appearances with microphone setup and briefings.
• Must climb ladders and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Work outside normal schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Maintain attention to detail, and strong communication and organization under deadlines.

Job description

The Studio Technician operates various equipment (cameras, audio, lighting, etc...) used for daily production.

• Operate studio equipment for daily live newscasts and other studio productions, including cameras, audio, lighting and other systems as needed
• Work closely with the director, other studio crew members and on-air talent to ensure all productions are executed cleanly and as planned
• Setup special segments, including audio equipment, tables and chairs, props and other items as needed
• Assist in the operation and daily maintenance of the studios and all equipment within
• Interact professionally with outside guests, and prepare them for studio appearances with verbal instructions and setting up their microphone and other items for their segments
• Must be able to climb ladders and lift 25lbs
• Must be willing to work outside of normal schedule as needed, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Excellent attention to detail, and strong communication and organization skills are essential
• Ability to handle high stress environment with deadline pressures

High School Diploma Required
