Part‑time student worker in Environmental Engineering/Science

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis. No sponsorship is available for this position.

We are accepting applications for the part‑time student worker position at our office in Baton Rouge. The role offers experience in areas such as site investigation & remediation and air quality permitting. Work will take place both in office and in the field.

Interns will be paid hourly and are overtime eligible. Housing and relocation expenses are the responsibility of the intern.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Preparing emissions calculations
• Conducting research on current environmental regulations and technologies
• Assisting in preparing deliverables such as permit applications and environmental impact reports to clients and governmental agencies
• Generating application forms and spreadsheets
• Delivering permitting actions to local government agencies
• Completing administrative tasks
• Special projects as directed

Requirements

• Candidates must be working on a BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering or science discipline (air quality coursework is a plus) with a GPA of 3.5 or higher

• Strong written/verbal communication, problem‑solving and organizational skills
• Ability to understand and interpret environmental regulations
• The physical requirements of this position may include the need for climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling and lifting. Employees may be required to take specific training and to wear personal protective equipment on some occasions.
