Job summary

Tri-District Adult Education (York Site) is seeking a Part-Time Student Support Specialist to assist adult learners with testing, college and career planning, and tutoring in York, SC. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and a willingness to obtain a Global Career Development Facilitator certification within one year; SC Teaching Certificate is preferred.

Typical schedule is up to 20 hours per week, Monday–Thursday 8:30am–1pm, with some Fridays for training.

Responsibilities

• Test Administration: Complete required training for test administration.
• Test Administration: Conduct intake and orientation sessions for new students.
• Test Administration: Organize, set-up, and administer testing to adult learners.
• College and Career Navigator Services: Assist students with goal setting and developing college/career plans.
• College and Career Navigator Services: Meet with students to work on college and career-related activities, including employability skills development and assistance with resumes, college applications, and job applications.
• College and Career Navigator Services: Work with the Fort Mill & Clover Student Support to coordinate presenters such as York Tech admissions representatives, military recruiters, and local businesses to speak with students.
• College and Career Navigator Services: Connect students to supportive services.
• College and Career Navigator Services: Follow-up with students and graduates.
• College and Career Navigator Services: Complete required reports
• College and Career Navigator Services: Participate in meetings, trainings, and workshops at the local, regional, and state level.
• Instruction: Cover classes if the instructor is absent.
• Instruction: Tutor face-to-face and online students in Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies as needed.

Position: Part-Time Student Support Specialist – York Site

Hours: Up to 20 hours/week
