Job summary

Penn State University in University Park is seeking a Competitive Sports Supervisor to oversee on-site club and intramural sport events. You will monitor rosters, perform safety checks, review paperwork, evaluate officials, and manage student staff. You may also fill in as an Intramural Official when needed.

The role requires prior experience with PSU Competitive Sports and the ability to respond to injuries, enforce policies, and work weeknights and weekends as programming demands.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Supervisor

Competitive Sports Supervisors provide on-site supervision of club and intramural sport competitions and events. This includes overseeing roster and safety checks, reviewing paperwork, evaluating officials, and supervising and managing student employees. Individuals serving as a Competitive Sports Supervisor may work Intramural Sports programming during the weeknights and Club Sports programming during the weekends. They will also serve as a first responder in the event of injury and will be tasked with enforcing all policies of Campus Recreation and Competitive Sports; additionally, Supervisors may be required to perform the duties and responsibilities of an Intramural Official throughout their employment with Competitive Sports. Individuals in this position must have worked for Competitive Sports for a minimum of one (1) full academic year as an Intramural Official.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
