Overview

VenuWorks of Jefferson City Missouri is seeking dedicated and energetic Part-Time Stagehands to join our event operations team. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless execution of a wide variety of events, from concerts to community gatherings, by providing essential technical and physical support. Summary

The Part-Time Stagehand performs a multitude of physical tasks related to event production, including facility changeovers, event load-in and load-out, and on-site event operations. This role requires flexibility, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs the load-in, changeover/show-call, and load-out of band and rental equipment.
  • Utilizes proper safety protocols for all aspects of concert production, including rigging and loading.
  • Assists audio, lighting, and video crew members with equipment placement, builds, and cabling.
  • Responsible for hanging show backdrops, building stage risers, and barricade placement.
  • Performs routine maintenance on stage, audio, lighting, barricade, and rigging equipment as needed.
  • Maintains curtains, drapes, risers, and other staging items.
  • Assists audio crew with stands, microphones, cables, etc.
  • Assists lighting crew with fixtures, lamps, cabling, ladders, etc.
  • Assists Special Effects crew with any necessary operational needs.
  • Assists with any Special Events operations.
  • Sets up and operates spotlights if necessary.

Education and/or Experience
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Reliable means of communication for scheduling and urgent contact.
Language Skills
  • Ability to speak and understand English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions, policies, and procedures.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to maintain a calm, composed presence in an often fast-paced environment where multiple tasks, events, and stimuli may occur simultaneously.
