Job summary

Penn State Abington Athletics seeks a Part-Time Sports Information Assistant to support media relations, communications, and digital content for 14 NCAA Division III varsity sports. The role involves writing press materials, creating social content, and maintaining the athletics website.

Responsibilities include game-day support, statistics, streaming assistance, and coordinating student workers. Prior experience in athletics communications and familiarity with SIDEARM/Presto are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field preferred.
• Previous experience in sports information or athletic communications preferred.
• Knowledge of sports-media workflows and digital content creation.

Responsibilities

• Write and distribute press releases, previews, and recaps for 14 NCAA Division III varsity sports.
• Create and schedule social media content to promote teams and athletes.
• Maintain the Athletics website (AbingtonSports.com) with schedules, rosters, stats, and history.
• Attend home events and provide in-game statistics, streaming support, and social media coverage.
• Assist with setup and troubleshooting of streaming/video production equipment.
• Supervise student workers and game-day personnel at home events.
