Job summary

Lone Star College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach Speech courses at various times and locations in the Houston area. This part-time role supports course objectives and student learning in a flexible, semester-by-semester framework.

Adjunct instructors are responsible for delivering engaging lessons, maintaining course syllabi, and advising students as needed. A Master’s in speech/communication and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Master's in speech or communication with 18 graduate hours in related coursework.
• Experience teaching at the college level is preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
• Ability to engage students and manage classes across times and locations.

Responsibilities

• Teaches Speech courses at a variety of times and locations.
• Creates engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material.
• Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
• Uses a course syllabus following institutional guidelines.
• Meets with and advises students before/after class or by appointment.
