Job summary

The Boys' Club of New York Inc is seeking a part-time Special Education Tutor to support boys aged 6-12 with targeted instruction at East 111th Street in New York. You will work one-on-one or in small groups, administer diagnostics when appropriate, and help create strong programs such as clubs or preparation courses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Special Education Tutor or teacher.
• Experience with students aged 6–18 and high school level content.
• Teacher certification or formal education experience preferred.
• Knowledge of NYC school standards preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing environment and diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement programs and lesson plans to enhance skill development.
• Collaborate with Education Director and staff to assess student needs and adapt lessons.
• Observe progress and attendance; track outcomes.
• Maintain positive relationships with members, families and staff.
• Develop and adapt curriculum and training methods for participants.
• Attend departmental meetings and professional trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.
