Job summary

Dorchester School District 2 is seeking a part-time Special Education Teacher for Sand Hill Elementary School in Summerville, SC. The teacher will provide individualized instruction aligned to each student's IEP and collaborate with general education teachers and families to support academic, social, and behavioral growth.

The role is part-time with duties including progress monitoring, reports, and implementation of IEPs, under the supervision of the Principal and within the Special Services

Qualifications

Valid South Carolina Teaching Certificate in the area of Special Education.
Alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

Provide students with individualized instruction and support in all academic and functional areas identified on each child's IEP.
Foster growth in academic, social, and behavioral skills in collaboration with general education teachers and families.
Identifies students' learning challenges and implements targeted remediation plans.
Assesses students' academic and functional needs and monitors progress toward IEP goals.
Maintains detailed records of attendance, benchmark data, progress monitoring, and curriculum management in the special education program.
