Job summary

Penn's Grove Middle School is seeking an Instructional Aide for Special Education on a part-time basis (5.5 hours/day). You will support students with disabilities, assist teachers, and help implement IEPs in a collaborative classroom setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher preferred or two years of postsecondary study.
• Experience working with students with disabilities is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to follow directions and implement instructional strategies as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Background checks and any required state/district assessments will be completed.
• Flexible hours to accommodate the school schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing instructional strategies tailored to individual student needs.
• Provide one-on-one and small group support during lessons and activities.
• Help students with daily living skills, social interactions, and behavior management as needed.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate academic/behavioral records.
• Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to develop and adapt instructional materials.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance skills in special education practices.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement.
• Assist with classroom organization, including preparing materials and setup.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding progress and needs.
