Job summary

Schaumburg Park District is seeking a part-time Sound Designer to create immersive soundscapes for theatrical productions at the Community Recreation Center in Schaumburg, IL. The role requires experience in theatrical sound design, proficiency with QLab and GarageBand, and the ability to collaborate with directors, designers, and volunteers.

Duties include setup/teardown of gear and supporting the production team during performances.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have reliable transportation to the venue.
• Proven experience as a sound designer in a theatrical setting.
• Experience designing for shows with young performers is a bonus.
• Proficiency with industry-standard software and equipment.
• Strong communication and collaboration with diverse creative teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement immersive soundscapes, effects, and music for productions.
• Collaborate with directors and other designers to realize the artistic vision.
