Job summary

New York Post Media Group in California is seeking a Part-Time Social Media Editor to manage social media for the California Post, edit videos, and publish engaging content across major platforms. The role requires newsroom experience and strong storytelling abilities.

The candidate will work Saturdays and Sundays 12pm-8pm PST with remote eligibility, contributing to a fast-paced team and a broad, news-driven audience.

Qualifications

  • At least two years of professional experience managing social media for a news organization.
  • Proven experience in multimedia content creation and social publishing across digital platforms.
  • Proficiency in video and photo editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, and Canva, supported by a strong creative portfolio.
  • Strong editorial judgment with excellent writing and copy-editing skills.
  • Current knowledge of social media trends, best practices, and emerging platforms, with the agility to adapt strategies to drive engagement.
  • Hands-on experience managing large social media accounts with measurable success in audience growth and engagement.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced newsroom, with strong multitasking and prioritization skills under tight deadlines.
  • A passion for news, culture, and storytelling, with the creativity to translate those interests into compelling social content.

Note: The shift schedule for this role is Saturday and Sunday, 12pm-8pm PST. This role is eligible for remote work. While the role supports The New York Post, employment and payroll will be managed by the vendor.

Base Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00 Hourly. We’re committed to offering competitive and flexible compensation to attract top talent.
