Job summary

Aphios Corporation, a clinical-stage biotechnology company, seeks a PhD-level Scientist / Senior Scientist for a flexible part-time or consulting role focused on mammalian cell culture and cell-based assay development in the Boston/Cambridge area.

The successful candidate will establish, optimize, and conduct an in vitro anti-nausea assay using recombinant stomach-derived cells, alongside supporting GLP-1 and Alzheimer’s disease programs with various signaling, cytokine, and cytotoxicity studies.

Qualifications

PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Neuroscience, or related field.
Strong hands-on mammalian cell culture experience and cell-based assay development.
Ability to independently establish, optimize, and troubleshoot assays.
Experience with recombinant or engineered cell systems.
Excellent experimental design, quantitative analysis, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Establish, optimize, and conduct an in vitro anti-nausea assay using recombinant stomach-derived cells.
Adopt and optimize assay protocols, design controls, and perform dose–response studies.
Evaluate therapeutic candidates and formulations, assess assay variability.
Contribute to GLP-1 and Alzheimer’s disease programs with signaling and cytokine studies.
Document methods, generate data, and influence program direction.
