The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Physical Therapy has an exciting opportunity for a part time Occupational Therapist II to work in Miami, FL. The Occupational Therapist II plans and conducts individualized occupational therapy programs to help patients develop, regain, or maintain their ability to perform daily activities.

You will teach patients skills and how to use adaptive equipment, and you will evaluate progress. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Active FL Occupational Therapist license.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
• Commitment to the University's core values.
• Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates sound clinical reasoning to synthesize evaluation data, identify diagnosis, and develop a care plan.
• Develops and updates care plans with measurable goals with patient/family.
• Selects and administers assessment and treatment techniques and performs competency evaluations.
• Follows intervention protocols and revises interventions as needed.
• Discharges patient when goals are met or medical necessity is no longer indicated.
• Initiates patient and family education and uses adaptive equipment appropriately.
• Ensures patient and family understand access to further intervention.
• Performs data collection for the department within the expected time frame.
