Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a part-time Security Officer Patrol in Charlottesville, VA. You will monitor assigned areas, perform routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents while assisting with access control, responding to alarms, and delivering customer service.

The role is unarmed, with a pay rate of $17.95 per hour. Schedule includes DayTime and weekend shifts; full details provided during onboarding.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check will be conducted as required by law.
• Drug screen will be conducted as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access to the location, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate activity and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response activities and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Support a professional environment by observing and reporting policy violations, suspicious activity, and security-related concerns to site leadership and/or emergency services as appropriate.
