Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Newark, CA to monitor and protect client sites, manage access control, and provide exceptional customer service. The role offers flexible daytime and weekend shifts, with a focus on unarmed patrols, incident documentation, and collaboration with site leadership.

A background check and drug screen are required by law, and licensed guards are preferred.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, drivers, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor access points, check in authorized visitors and/or delivery personnel, and report suspicious activity or unauthorized access in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including vehicle, trailer, package, or facility-related concerns.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the business, parking areas, loading docks, trailer yards, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
