Job summary

Allied Universal in De Soto, KS is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Access Control). You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence, support access control, and deliver customer service to employees and visitors using on-site tools.

The role offers a flexible schedule via our Claim a Shift platform. Minimum requirements include high school diploma or equivalent, background check and drug screen, and preferred CPR/First Aid, badge experience, and computer/tablet

Qualifications

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and deliveries in accordance with site procedures; verify credentials and direct guests to appropriate contacts or areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of office areas, common spaces, parking areas, and the business perimeter to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or maintenance concerns.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications while maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity.
