Job summary

Allied Universal® in South Bend, IN is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Patrol Services to provide dependable, flexible security coverage at an assigned site. The role offers steady part-time hours with opportunities to earn more by picking up extra shifts, and a pay rate of $17.69 per hour.

You will perform access control, conduct patrols, monitor entrances, respond to incidents, and complete daily reports while upholding customer service standards.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, contractors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of telecommunications and technology facilities, offices, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and verify visitor, contractor, and delivery credentials in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services when needed.
• Prepare accurate activity, incident, and shift reports and communicate relevant security-related information to Allied Universal leadership and site personnel.
