Job summary

Securitas USA is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer for Newton, KS. The role includes monitoring access, patrolling multiple sites, and upholding client site rules to maintain a secure environment. A strong focus on customer service and vigilance is required.

The position requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work nights (Sun–Mon 0000–0800). Pre-employment screening and a valid driver certification may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor premises and control access to ensure safety.
• Patrol assigned locations and follow post orders.
• Identify and report safety hazards or suspicious activity.
• Enforce client site regulations and directives.
• Provide courteous customer service to employees and visitors.
• Operate security devices and technologies as needed.
• Conduct regular tours of the property and complete rounds.
• Respond to emergencies with sound judgment and escalation when appropriate.

Part-Time Security Officer

Primary Location: Newton, KS

Wage: $20.00/HR

Night Shift: Sun - Mon: 0000 - 0800

The Security Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.

What You Can Expect:

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.

• Frequent interactions with client employees and guests.

• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.

• Ensure that all post orders are followed and assigned rounds are completed.

• Provide customer service and information to the client’s employees and guests.

• Utilizing technology devices throughout shift.

• Conduct tours of the property.

• Carry out specific tasks and duties of similar nature and scope as required for assigned site.

Basic Requirements:

• 18 years of age or older.

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• Above average computer / technology skills needed.

• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.

• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.

• Must be able to work independently.

• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.

• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.

• Must have a professional demeanor.

• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
