Job summary

NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) invites applications for a pool of Part-time Adjunct Faculty to teach Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, Agricultural Sciences, or related life science courses. Instructors may teach mornings, afternoons, evenings or weekends and may be required to manage lectures and labs.

Minimum qualifications include a Master of Science in a Biological Science and at least 18 graduate hours in the subject area.

Qualifications

Master of Science degree in a Biological Science or similar degree (by approval of the Dean of Science and Mathematics).
At least 18 graduate hours in the subject area to be taught.

Responsibilities

Prepare and deliver instruction to students.
Effectively employ a range of suitable strategies to foster student learning.
Stimulate class discussions and encourage active learning in all students.
Maintain proper class-related records.
Contacts students outside the classroom due to student absence to relay information related to class work and assignments.
Maintains current knowledge in the field, vocation or profession.
Promptly assess student coursework and apprise students of progress.
Demonstrate an interest in using current and emerging technologies in the classroom and/or in online teaching.
Support the academic area and College through other work normally expected of adjunct faculty members.
Any other duties as assigned.
