First Student is hiring part-time School Van Drivers in Niles, MI. You will begin the day with morning pickups and return students home in the afternoon, with potential hours for field trips and events.

No prior experience is required; we provide training to help you become a safe, professional driver. Enjoy a flexible part-time schedule with split AM/PM routes, a starting hourly rate of $18.00 per hour, and a training hourly rate of $16.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• No experience is necessary to become a van driver.
• Valid driver's license for at least 3 years.
• Part-time, flexible schedule with split AM/PM routes.
• DOT safety-sensitive position requiring drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist students with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the vehicle to prevent distractions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Report mechanical issues and keep the vehicle clean.
• Observe traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about delays.
