First Student, Inc. in Tiverton, RI is seeking a Part-Time School Van Driver to safely transport students and support their daily routines. The role offers a flexible AM/PM schedule, with guaranteed minimum hours and opportunities to advance across 540 locations in the U.S. and Canada.

The job includes comprehensive training, competitive pay ($25.88/hr) with a training rate of $16.00/hr, and benefits such as medical/dental/vision/Life insurance and a company-matched 401(k).

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license for at least 3 years.
• Part-time schedule with daytime hours.
• Ability to work with students and families.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist students with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the bus to prevent distractions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the bus clean and sanitary.
• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about student delays or behavior.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.
