Job summary

Monitor the activities of students in the cafeteria and/or on the playground to ensure their safety and well-being. Communicate observations and incidents that may affect students to relevant staff.

Position is part-time (14.25 hours per week) with a base hourly rate of $16.56, calendar A11, 9.25 months. Requirements include a high school diploma, being at least 18, and experience working with children. No benefits provided; annual performance pay is available.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience working with and/or supervising children.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the activities of students in the cafeteria and/or on the playground.
• Counsel and/or intervene with students to ensure acceptable behavior.
• Report observations and/or incidents relating to students to appropriate school personnel.
• Respond to emergency situations to address immediate safety concerns.
• Assist students during lunchtime.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks (clean up spills on tables, floor, etc.).
• Regular and on-time attendance required.
• Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
• Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools.
