Job summary

The position is about 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday on a school calendar, with no benefits. A background check and health screening are required, and applicants must meet citizenship/residency/work eligibility requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Background check and health screening required by the district.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Previous food service experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals in the school cafeteria.
• Set up serving lines, portion food, and replenish items as needed.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to maintain cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, food prep surfaces, and equipment.
• Receive and store food and supplies properly according to safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Follow all safety procedures and comply with USDA meal pattern and portion requirements.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service to students and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Child Nutrition Director or cafeteria manager.
