Job summary

KIPP New Jersey is seeking a part-time School Nurse for our Middle School in Paterson, NJ to ensure the health and safety of students and the school community. Qualifications

• Must hold a current New Jersey School Nurse Certification or meet eligibility for standard or emergency nurse certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Current CPR and AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and confidential student health records, including immunization data and medical histories.
• Administer medications and treatments per state laws and school policy.
• Respond to illnesses, injuries, and emotional health concerns with appropriate interventions.
• Develop and implement care plans based on assessments.
• Monitor immunization compliance and communicable diseases; promote a safe school environment.
• Assist families in accessing community health resources and support services.
• Collaborate with staff to promote student wellness.
• Provide input to school-based teams and student support teams.
• Maintain supplies and equipment for nurse’s office and first aid stations.
