Job summary

Danbury Public Schools is seeking a Kitchen Aide to assist with the preparation and service of nutritious meals at Danbury High School - West Campus. You will help with washing, chopping, and peeling, sanitation, and stock management, while following safety policies and dietary considerations.

The role requires basic math, the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, and effective communication with students and staff. Hours are 9:45 - 1:15, with a pay rate of $21.19 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• QFO certificate may be required.
• Basic math and computation skills.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Able to follow directions and work with students and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and serving school meals as directed.
• Perform routine kitchen duties including inventory checks and dishwashing.
• Support preparation and packaging of meals for off-site service.
• Participate in cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment and stations.
• Be aware of students' food allergies and dietary needs.
• Maintain professional communication with students, staff and parents.
