Job summary

Atlantic County Vocational School District is seeking a Part Time Custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety in school buildings and grounds under the supervision of the Director of Facilities. Responsibilities include general cleaning, minor repairs, and assisting staff and students as needed.

The role covers securing buildings, cleaning rooms and corridors, operating floor machines, handling snow removal, and supporting events.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or completion of sufficient education to perform the duties.
• Previous experience in building and cleaning maintenance desirable.
• New Jersey Driver's License or ability to provide own transportation.
• Ability to qualify for NJ Black Seal License.
• Criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.

Responsibilities

• Checks and secures building at beginning and end of shift for safety and cleanliness.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, cafeterias, restrooms, offices, stairways and other areas.
• Operates floor cleaning machines, vacuums, and waxers.
• Removes graffiti and cleans glass areas; replaces light bulbs.
• Sets up and breaks down chairs, tables and equipment for meetings.
• Performs grounds-keeping duties and assists in snow removal.
