Job summary

Aspire Public Schools in Sacramento, CA is seeking a part-time Custodian to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming school environment that supports student learning. Duties include cleaning classrooms, restrooms, hallways and the dining area; setting up for meals and events; responding to spills; and performing minor maintenance as needed.

1–3 years of custodial experience is preferred. Applicants should be able to lift up to 30 pounds, work independently, and interact appropriately with students

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe and efficient use of cleaning materials, chemicals, tools and equipment.
• Ability to complete minor maintenance tasks like replacing lights or filters.
• Ability to lift, carry, push and move heavy objects regularly.
• Ability to work independently and meet basic record-keeping requirements.
• Ability to interact appropriately with children of different ages in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Cleans classrooms, restrooms, hallways, multipurpose room, offices and common areas.
• Sets up and cleans dining area before, between, and after meals.
• Responds to emergency cleanups such as spills.
• Performs minor routine maintenance (lights, filters).
• Performs grounds-keeping duties (litter pickup, weeding).
• Reports repair needs to appropriate parties.
• Sets up furniture for assemblies and events.
• Supports safety and security for students and staff.
