Harwood Unified Union School District in Waitsfield, Vermont is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker half-time (.5 FTE) to perform cleaning duties and a variety of routine cafeteria tasks. Qualifications

• Education and Experience. Basic Education (high school or equivalent), plus one year of related food service experience.
• Language Skills. Read, comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence, and present information clearly.
• Mathematical Skills. Add, subtract, multiply and divide in units of American money.
• Reasoning Ability/Mental Requirements. Apply common sense to follow instructions and handle concrete variables.
• Communication & Interpersonal Skills. Communicate courteously and work with diverse groups.
• Good personal hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily cleaning duties in the cafeteria including cleaning equipment and work areas, operating dishwasher and/or scrubbing pots and pans, cleaning up lines at end of meal shift, and putting away/disposing of leftovers.
• Set up and stock areas as needed.
• Prepare and package foods.
• Serve foods to students.
• Serve hot and/or cold food and/or beverages.
• Stock, clean and maintain food and beverage lines.
• Assist with routine food preparation tasks, such as cutting up fruits and vegetables, making and wrapping sandwiches, and the like.
• Perform cashier duties: set up cash drawer; operate cash register; cash out at the end of the day.
