Job summary

Belen Consolidated School District Cafeteria Department is seeking a Cook Aide for a part-time role in the school cafeteria. The position is 4 hours per day, 180 days per year, with a site to be determined for the 2026/2027 school year and a starting date immediately.

Qualified applicants should have a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of related experience. Knowledge of school nutritional programs and basic bookkeeping is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience in cafeteria or food services setting preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of student nutritional program and building menus; ability to prepare meals in a school cafeteria.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation following school menus.
• Keep accurate records and perform basic bookkeeping procedures.
• Operate and troubleshoot software tools for word processing, databases and spreadsheets.
• Assist with maintaining kitchen and storage areas in a safe, clean condition.
• Lift and carry up to 25 pounds and perform duties as assigned.
