Job summary

Taher is seeking a part-time Food Service Worker for New Glarus Elementary in New Glarus, WI. The role focuses on preparing, serving, and maintaining safe, nutritious meals for students during the school day, in line with health standards and kitchen procedures.

You will work Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 1:45 pm, with no nights or weekends. Experience in food service is preferred; basic math, reliability, and ability to follow sanitation guidelines are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and communicate effectively in English.
• Demonstrated manual dexterity and ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Capacity to stand for extended periods.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
• Experience in food service or cafeteria environment (preferred).
• ServSafe or food handling certification (preferred).
• Familiarity with school nutrition programs (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to established menus and portion sizes.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation and serving areas in compliance with health regulations.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while following all safety protocols.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies to ensure freshness and proper inventory management.
• Engage courteously with students and staff, providing friendly and efficient service during meal times.
